Shaping The Future
Infinity Samui is a perfect example of how the property market on Samui has evolved and developed in recent times. And where it’s going in the future.
A few years ago the idea of a stylish contemporary estate made up of apartments and penthouse suites, sat on the mountainside of the Bang Por area, and operated as a five-star resort residence, would have been considered an unrealistic venture. However, Infinity Samui has defied this conventional thinking and achieved record sales with construction progressing towards completion in mid-2009.
Contemporary styling was not something commonly associated with the tropical island setting; apartments on Samui were pretty much unheard of until recently, especially on a mountainside location and in a previously remote area such as Bang Por; and, finally, the ‘resort residence’ phenomenon is something that’s very new to the island.
So with all of this to consider the marketing and building of Infinity Samui could have been considered a risk by many. How wrong an assessment that would have been. The incredible modern designs of this project have captured the imagination of property buyers and proven to be very attractive to a worldwide audience, including well-known celebrities such as the world number-one tennis star Justine Henin, who’s just completed a purchase.
Other more contemporarily designed developments are starting to appear and are now no longer considered inappropriate for the tropical lifestyle. In fact, the wall-less appearance of these particular apartments together with the clever use of water throughout the whole project, and suitable tropical landscaping, ensures that Infinity Samui sits comfortably in its mountainside location.
Lifestyles associated with apartment living have spread to include life on a tropical island. The attraction of owning a luxury apartment is no longer restricted to city dwellers and therefore the ease, security, affordability and associated lifestyle has led to apartments and condominiums becoming increasingly common on Samui.
Samui’s continuing development has seen new areas become popular with tourists and residents looking for the exclusivity and privacy that can be easily achieved on Samui. Simply by heading a relatively short distance from the main resort areas you’ll find beautiful quieter beaches and peaceful mountainside retreats. Bang Por is one such area that is attracting more visitors and developers. However, even if Bang Por should become busier this will only be an advantage for Infinity Samui, in terms of having more local facilities. The exclusivity of the project is guaranteed by its elevated position and the layout of the surrounding area.
Having more local amenities is always a positive thing for any development, and Bang Por is hardly too remote to start with. It’s a very private, serene location that is only a short drive from the ring-road and that makes accessibility, and travelling around the island, an easy option. But Infinity Samui doesn’t need to rely too heavily on local amenities or improvements, as this development is going to be run as a resort where the options and facilities are as infinite as the name suggests.
As a resort, Infinity Samui really gives you the opportunity to experience all aspects of an island destination. Being elevated and on a tropical mountainside ensures that guests get a stunning sea-view; the outstanding apartments provide exceptional accommodation that will cater to guests who enjoy style, comfort and absolute luxury; and the facilities make the private estate almost completely self-sufficient offering you the opportunity to do pretty much anything you want, without the need for venturing too far. This includes a golf-buggy service to shuttle you around the project’s extensive facilities as well as taking you down to the separate beachfront area consisting of a bar, restaurant and large swimming pool.
The investment aspect of Infinity Samui has proved to be one of the main elements that has successfully attracted buyer interest. The developer is currently in the process of obtaining a hotel license and selecting a brand-named operator to ensure that Infinity Samui generates the optimal capital appreciation and rental returns for the buyers. At Infinity Samui every detail has been thought of and taken care of.
That approach to detail is extended to more than just the resort and the accommodation. It’s also been evident in the professional planning and construction of the properties. With a full Chanote land-title deed and the correct building permits in place, the construction of the properties by I.P.S. started in September last year in conjunction with Jones Lang LaSalle Thailand. Progress pictures are regularly posted on the company’s website.
Infinity Samui has set various trends on the island, as mentioned above. But it has also revived the old method of successfully selling properties off-plan. When the development was first marketed, the aim was to build one phase at a time. However, unprecedented off-plan sales have left only 16 properties still available. Therefore, both phases 1 and 2 are under construction and will be completed at the same time. This has many benefits. Owners and potential buyers can be confident that future construction will not affect the professional running of the resort or damage any future rental returns. Final completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2009 giving ample time to finish and remove any possible snagging issues before launching and opening the project as one of the island’s premier resorts.
Another area where Infinity Samui stands out is that the company is now providing a limited offer of 50% finance on 10 of the remaining units. In this innovative payment plan you can pay 40% when signing the contract, 10% upon completion of the superstructure, and post-completion payments over a one-, three- or five-year payment plan.
Such an option will undoubtedly open the properties up to a much wider group of investors who will see this finance option as the perfect way to get the kind of Samui property investment they’ve always dreamed of.
